Harper High School is NOT presently seeking athletic coaches or activity sponsors at this time, but would be happy to receive your cover letter and resume for our files.
Prospective coaches and sponsors must fill out the attached application. You must include a cover letter and resume. Submit all materials to Erik Olson either in person, via email at ejolson@cps.edu, or to the mailing address provided.
A personal interview is by invitation only and required before employment. If you are offered a non-certified staff position, a criminal background investigation will be made in accordance with Illinois School Law. You will also be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification form (I-9) and an Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act form. New employees are required to have a physical examination and a tuberculin test at their expense as a condition of employment.

| Requirements: |
Athletic coaches at Harper High School will be knowledgeable and effective teachers of sportsmanship, athletic rules, skills, and techniques related to a particular sport.
Coaches will foster academic growth and achievement by keeping daily and weekly records of student athletes' grades, attendance, and behavioral conduct; by providing daily opportunities for team study sessions; and will attend regular meetings to discuss the most effective strategies for building a culture and climate of student success and achievement.
Coaches will support and adhere to Harper High School's Activities Eligibility Policy and all District and State academic and medical eligibility policies.
Coaches will maintain an accurate team roster, provide opportunities for relationship building, engage in service learning, and take a lead role in mentoring each student athlete's success in life. |
